Important Information About Overdraft Services
Click here to keep your overdraft protection
An overdraft service is when your transaction is paid even though sufficient funds are not available in your account to cover the amount of the transaction. A fee is charged for this service, and is provided automatically – members do not have to apply for or select to use the overdraft services. A plan that transfers money from a credit card, loan account, or another deposit account is not considered an overdraft service.
After August 15, 2010, we can not provide overdraft services for ATM or every day debit transactions unless you have authorized us to do so.
Generally, an everyday debit transaction is when you use your debit card or card number to make a purchase at a gas station, store, restaurant, or other merchant, or by phone or the Internet. Using your debit card to authorize automatic payment of a recurring bill, such as your utility bill, is not considered an everyday debit card transaction. Keep in mind that the credit union will deny a transaction if the records show you do not have sufficient funds available in your account at the time it is asked to authorize the transaction even if you expect to have deposited sufficient funds in your account by the time the transaction is presented for payment.
Please contact AHFCU if you wish us to continue to offer you this service after August 15, 2010, or if you have any questions regarding this. We need your authorization to continue this service. Look for your Opt-In notices sent in the mail or by e-mail throughout the month of July 2010.
